Tasting notes

Kodo, crafted by Daedalus, and later by Igai Takaha, is a 2010 vintage white wine that embodies the rich bounty of California. This bottle is perfect for special occasions, capturing the depth and warmth that California's climate imparts to its fruit.

In Volume 33 of 'Drops of God', this wine was chosen by Issei as a solution to a pressing problem. The scene where it was paired with a powerful Hawaiian dish, Kalua Pig, seasoned with a sweet soy sauce in a kakuni-style, highlighted the wine's robust character and harmonious balance.

The color is a pale gold, catching light beautifully in the glass. The aroma is open and expressive, with notes of tropical fruits and ripe pineapple. On the palate, it offers a rich and rounded sweetness, underpinned by the vibrant acidity typical of Californian sunshine. The finish is moderately long, bringing forward a sense of matured depth.

Pairing this wine with warm-climate cuisine truly brings out its potential. While it's delightful when chilled, letting it warm slightly enhances its roundness and allows the complex nuances to unfold in your mouth.
