Tasting notes

The Clos des Lambrays from Domaine des Lambrays is a gem of Burgundy's Pinot Noir. This 1982 vintage is particularly noteworthy, having aged in the bottle for 44 years. Opening this bottle feels like unlocking a piece of history.

In Volume 14, this wine appears when a young Itsuki and Julietta sneak into the cellar to taste it. In that scene, they talk about how the fruitiness and tannins have perfectly melded together, and the acidity has mellowed, making it a timeless drink. It must have been a special experience for them.

The color has that brick hue with a touch of orange, and when you tilt the glass, you can see the legs slowly moving down. On the nose, you'll catch aromas of dried figs, violets, and a hint of tea. The attack is gentle, with a soft spread of fruit sweetness. The acidity is smooth, and the tannins are silky, melting pleasantly on the palate.

The finish is long, leaving a lingering, elegant sensation in your mouth. To truly appreciate its elegant and complex flavors, take your time and savor it slowly. Using a medium-sized glass will really enhance its aromas.
