Tasting notes

Louis Métaireau's Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine Grande Mouton from 2002 is something special. He's a winemaker from the Loire, pouring his heart into crafting Muscadet that's got this mineral edge to it. When you open a bottle of this, you're in for a treat.

In Volume 14, there's a scene where Shizuku shares this wine with Akane Fujita while searching for Julietta. Remember that? They're at her company, and they pair it with steamed rock oysters in a white truffle sauce. That wine had this sea breeze aroma that just complemented the dish beautifully.

Looking at it, the wine's got this lovely golden hue with elegant legs when you swirl your glass. The aroma is open and welcoming, with fresh citrus notes up front, followed by that mineral depth, almost like a hint of limestone. On the palate, it's got this sharp acidity that spreads a marine freshness throughout your mouth.

The finish is long, leaving a distinct mineral impression. Serve it chilled at around 8-10°C, and it really shines. A light glass will let you enjoy its delicate nuances even more, don't you think?
