Tasting notes
Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is the second wine from the renowned Château La Mission Haut-Brion in Bordeaux. It's got that classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, so you know you're in for a treat. This bottle really makes you want to pop it open and see what it holds inside.
In the third volume, there's this great scene where it's accidentally served at a wine bar by the lady at the counter who thought it was something else. It's one of those fun moments where a mix-up leads to discovering something fantastic, right?
Pour a glass, and you'll see this lovely deep ruby color with a hint of brick at the rim, thanks to its age. The aroma hits you with ripe blackberries and cassis, then you get these wonderful hints of tea and dried herbs. It's the kind of smell you just want to keep breathing in.
On the palate, it's got a strong structure with powerful tannins that leave a pleasant mark on your tongue. The acidity is just right, keeping everything in balance, and the finish is long—really lingering. Pair it with some red meats or aged cheese, and you'll see this wine's full potential come alive. Definitely worth a try.
