Tasting notes
Château Lafite Rothschild is one of the legendary First Growths in Bordeaux, especially renowned for its 1945 vintage. This year marked the end of World War II, making the vintage particularly symbolic. Predominantly made from Cabernet Sauvignon, with a blend of Merlot and others, it's celebrated for its elegance and longevity.
In Volume 27, this wine is served by Shizuku to his staff as a gesture of appreciation. He chose this wine to soothe and rejuvenate their weary spirits. The staff was moved by its aroma and taste, matured over time, proving it's truly a wine to enrich special moments.
When poured, it displays a deep garnet hue with an orange-tinged rim. On the nose, you'll find dried herbs, tea, and underbrush—a complex bouquet developed over years. Upon tasting, it greets you with rich fruitiness and a robust acidity, while velvety tannins glide smoothly across your palate.
The finish is long, leaving a matured depth lingering in your mouth. When serving, take your time to decant it, and savor it slowly.
