Tasting notes

Lou Dumont's Charmes-Chambertin from the 2006 vintage is quite something, you know. It's one of those distinguished Grand Crus from Burgundy, made entirely from Pinot Noir. This particular year, the winemaker put in a lot of effort, resulting in a wine that boasts charming fruitiness with a refined structure.

In volume 26 of 'Drops of God,' there's this scene where the winemaker, Nakata, personally offers the wine to the protagonist. It's described as having a charm and grace akin to a hardworking woman, yet with an underlying strength. That's the kind of impression this wine leaves, embodying its unique style.

Pour it into a glass, and you'll notice a deep ruby hue with an impressive density. The aroma is developed with notes of tea, underbrush, and dried herbs—thanks to its aging. While the fruit is subtle, you can still pick up ripe raspberry and black cherry nuances. On the palate, it spreads with a velvety smoothness, showing a solid structure. The acidity is rounded, and the tannins are fine and delicate. The finish is long, leaving an elegant impression.

Serve it at about 14–16°C in a medium-sized glass. Take your time to savor its complex flavors.
