Tasting notes
Egon Müller's Scharzhofberger Kabinett from 2005 is something special among German Rieslings. With the classic Mosel character, it's in a perfect window of maturity right now, just begging to be opened. Müller never disappoints, you know?
In the 17th volume of 'Drops of God', this wine makes an appearance when Andy, a mountain guide, shares it with Shizuku. They describe it as having the grandeur of vast mountains and deep forests, thanks to its incredibly long finish. When you taste it, the scale and depth really come through.
Tilt the glass and you'll see this bright, clear yellow. The aroma hits you first with fresh lemon and apple, then there's this lovely hint of white flowers. On the palate, the acidity is sharp and lively, while the minerality is pronounced. There's almost no bitterness, allowing the fruit's fullness to shine.
The finish is long, with a strong mineral presence lingering on your tongue. It's like being surrounded by nature—truly wonderful. Chill it a bit and enjoy it in a small glass for the best experience.
