Tasting notes

Hey, so we're opening this 1995 Romanée-Saint-Vivant from Leroy, a real gem from Burgundy, made entirely from Pinot Noir. You know, Leroy's known as a real genius in the wine world, and this vintage is just one of those special bottles. I'm really excited to share this moment with you.

This wine makes an appearance in volume 15, where Shizuku and Issei use it at dinner to catch a wine thief. They chose this particular Romanée-Saint-Vivant because its aroma and taste could reveal the truth. It's pretty clever, right? I mean, picking a wine crafted by such a genius makes sense.

Look at that deep ruby color shining in the glass. Take a sniff—ripe cherries and blackberries just jump out, with a hint of tea and dried herbs weaving through. It's the kind of aroma that just makes your heart skip a beat. When you taste it, those berry flavors hit first, followed by silky smooth tannins. The acidity is lively, pulling everything together nicely.

Every sip offers something new, with an impressively long finish that leaves its mark. It's elegant, complex, and unforgettable. I'd say serve it slightly cool, around 14–16°C. Experiencing such a remarkable wine in this moment feels really special.
